Physical Description: The first thing you'd notice about Claire is her height, she is about 5'9" and has always been taller then most girls, never feeling anything but proud about it. She has long dark brown hair, light brown eyes with specks of green, that are sharp and intelligent, never missing a thing. Her fingers are long and graceful, almost delicate looking, but her hands are strong and powerful. Claire has a very determined air to her, she has a lithe, thin frame and an almost fluid walk. An echo of her days as a ballet dancer.

Personality: Although she can be emotional, Claire is actually a very rational person. She tries her hardest not to get bogged down in emotion when it comes to decisions or 'flight of fancy' feelings. Everything she does she does because she's weight the pros and cons, thinking thoroughly through every detail. That doesn't mean she doesn't do things on impulse, when the occasion arises and she feels it's appropriate (or she's drunk), Claire will leap without looking. This is very rare though and will only be done when she is in a particularly crazy mood.

History:
Born and raised in Montreal to young, artist parents Claire was raised in a very modern and socially liberal household. She grew up listening to classical music and reading Proust, Rilke, George Sand and various other books and authors beyond her age, but it nurtured a love of books in her. From a young age she couldn't stand people 'dog earring' pages and treating books with general disrespect. Considering her quite liberal parents she likes to think her childhood was fairly normal, her parents had only one more child. A daughter named Emmanuelle who is Claire's best friend and one of the only people she trusts wholly, she was born partially deaf and because of this Claire knows LSQ.

As she grew, Claire grew into a slightly curt woman not one to put up with things she didn't like or to pretend she liked something when she really didn't. Which got her into trouble when she was in high school, arguing with students but more often then not the teachers. She got sent to the principles office more than once and was never shy or timid about the reason she was there, telling it frankly."He didn't know what he talking about. I was merely telling him the truth, that he was wrong." but she made good grades and eventually graduated.

She applied to McGill University where she studied English Literature for a short time before moving on to French Literature and then Italian, and German Language studies before finally settling on and getting her bachelors in Humanistic Studies. Through a Professor she found a school in Illinois that offered a Masters Degree in Library Science, where she eventually got an internship at The Newberry Library after finishing her degree. Claire moved on from there, getting a spot at the Boston Public Library before finally hearing about a great paying job on a cruise ship, The Nausicaa

Special Skills/Abilities: Fluent in French, German and English, respectively and of course LSQ or Quebec Sign Language and ASL.

Personal Weaknesses:
Abrasive - She can be a little brusque when she meets people for the first time and will act like an overall bitch, but eventually she'll relax.
Distrustful - Claire doesn't trust easily, sure she'll be nice and friendly once she gets to know you more, but it takes a lot for her to actually trust someone. To be able to put her trust into another human being is rare.
Willful - She knows what she likes, wants and needs and doesn't need anyone telling her otherwise.
Personal Strengths:
Loyal - Her trust may be hard to earn, but once it is she will be an extremely loyal and reliable friend.
